Coming up this February, the designer, whose celeb fans include Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba, will be launching his latest Spring '09 line called Eco Ferragamo--an entire collection of bags dedicated towards using more eco-friendly tanning procedures. Rather than using metals in these bags' production, which are known to result in the releasing of pollutants, these purses will use natural tannins from tree bark to create bio-degradable, water-resistant skins with hemp lining. Looks like they're still using leather...hmmmm. Well when a major designer makes a huge effort to making that step toward sustainable processes, we've gotta give them some cred.

Who needs a cliche Louis Vuitton monogram clutch when you can sport a hip Eco Ferragamo bag on your arm AND help save the environment at the same time?!
