The Hulk is back! Even though Do Something Twitter nominee Edward Norton did not win the award, he is still a winner. Edward launched Crowdrise.com, an online social network that encourages youth to volunteer, raise money for charity, and have fun while doing it. Also, Edward was named United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity earlier this month.
“I've just started on Crowdrise and I'm very excited by it. I've been looking for something like this for a long time and put a lot of thought into what would make fundraising and activism fun and easy for people...this is a GREAT way to do it,” said Edward.
Edward has always supported a number of different efforts in conservation, community development, global health, and the arts. The United Nations recognized this and shares these values and beliefs as well. Ahmed Djoghlaf, Executive Secretary of the CBD, said that the Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon could not have chosen “a better advocate , a better ambassador than someone who is [taking action], not only through statements and speeches, but doing it in reality” than Edward.
