CGG election round-up

With the final moments counting down in the new Presidential Election, celebs are still coming out at the last minute to secure votes for their prez hopefuls.

Last Wednesday, John Mayer wrote an article for the Huffington Post entitled "'Hope' is Not a Buzz Word" which calls for hope in the plans for change Obama has set his campaign around.

Last Thursday, band Wilco appeared on the Colbert Report and gave Stephen Colbert an Obama t-shirt so that Colbert "can be a part of rock and roll too." Wilco also played an exclusive song on the show, "Wilco the Song" that was more like an ode to Obama himself than anything else.

On Saturday, Chris Rock showed up at an Obama rally in Tampa to put in a few jokes about opponent McCain. Among them were comments on Chris taking his kids trick-or-treating at McCain's "many houses" and words about the Repbulican candidate's spouses, saying "We can't all dump our first wife and marry a rich one."

Sunday was a big day with Bruce Springsteen making a pit stop at an Obama campaign event in undecided state Ohio to play a set in support of the Democratic Nominee.

That same day, Natalie Portman and Rashida Jones posted a rather non-partisan new video on Funny or Die just urging people to go out and vote.

And finally on Sunday, Jay-Z and Diddy travelled out to South Florida for a "Last Chance for Change" rally to assure voters not to be afraid of long voting lines and to make sure to get out their votes. Later at the rally, Russell Simmons, Mary J. Blige, and music exec Kevin Liles also joined the pair at the event which supported Obama.

But no matter what button you punch at the polls, all CGG cares about is just that you get out and VOTE!

And make sure to also read up on how the Electoral College will also play a role in this election!
