Pregnant Minnie Driver has announced recently that she’s been craving all things green. “It’s going to come as a huge shock to you, but I guess, I’m addicted to green,” she recently told CGG. “Anything that’s green, from jello, to cucumber, to snap peas, to lime sorbet, all stuff that is really sharp and crunchy.”
How about Argula? “Sure, that’ll do. And that plant’s looking pretty good to me,” she said pointing to the houseplant on the windowsill. Her biggest craving is green apples, and she has a fridge full of them. Sounds like one healthy pregnancy.
CGG decided to get to the bottom of what was pushing this lovely lady toward the greenery.
Are you going green? we asked her. "Of course. The school I went to is 80% self-sufficient, so my whole life has been built around that."
Minnie went to a progressive school called Bedales in England. How did you end up there, we asked her. Were your parents hippees?
"It was the first coeducational school in England in the late 19th century," she said. "My mom went there; her whole family went there. It’s one of those great environments. It’s very academic as well but it just had a great socialist idea about the way we need to live in the world as a community and that never left me."
So there you have it. Old habits dies hard, especially when it comes to the good ones. We’re sure Minnie plans on passing her earth-saving habits to her new baby.
Stay tuned for CGG coverage on Minnie’s new film Take!
