While celebrity McCain voter – Angie Harmon, see post below – had her say regarding McCain’s merits, Glamour picked these two famous Barack backers to share theirs:
KERRY: “This year I choose Senator Barack Obama, because I know how necessary and important change has been in our nation’s history. His leadership throughout his career has illuminated his conviction tht change happens from the bottom up – not the top down. He believes in the power of the American people and is willing to work within both a grassroots and global framework to ensure that our democracy represents ‘we the people’ – every single one of us. I believe, as does he, that we must start to act like a ‘United’ States, committed to providing all Americans with equal acces to health care, housing, education, economic stablility and environmental health.”
GWYNNIE: “It is crucial that we elect a president who will make women’s health a priority. For his entire career, Barack Obama has stood up for women in this way. John McCain has not. McCain has voted against requiring insurance to cover birth control, and he’s opposed funding for education about emergency contraception (EC). McCain has voted against what is best for women’s health 125 times! This year, I’ll be voting for a champion of women’s health care, and a champion of my daughter’s future.”

Go Barack! i love it when celebs spill about their political preferences; it definitely lets me know where their priorities lie.
Gwyneth is a serious CGG this week! I love her shout outs to Barack's strong stand on women's rights. Last night's debates and the conversation on abortion was really important to the campaign. The O-Man had lots to say about the safety and health of women and the importance of education to prevent unwanted pregnancy. I'm not so sure McCain had the same strength in his responses - it seemed to me that he was avoiding giving a direct answer to the question.
Props to Gwyn! No one is talking about women's rights. McCain is seriously against contraception. What a huge mistake. Do we want more teen pregnancies???
