HSM3’s Matt Prokop joins a ruff coalition

Matt Prokop of HSM3 has a message for an audience of all ages: protect our furry friends! In this DS-exclusive pic from Matt’s upcoming film, Furry Vengeance, he cuddles up with his Maltese -poodle mix pup Oakley. In the movie, a group of animals join together to fight back against a developer who wants to plow through their homes to build over-sized mansions. Matt says he learned a lot about endangered species and deforestation while working on the film, which also stars Brendan Fraser and Brooke Shields.
The 19-year-old warns, “Millions of acres of forests are being chopped down and they’re filled with animals that have nowhere else to go. Some of these animals are endangered species, meaning there’s very few of them left and they could go extinct and could disappear forever. Some of these cool endangered animals include the Gray Wolf, Grizzly Bear, Spotted Owl, Florida Panther, and the Canada Lynx – which actually lives in the US too.”
Matt is taking part in a partnership with the Endangered Species Coalition to protect these endangered animals in the U.S., by supporting their ongoing art contest, which you can learn more about here. Today is the deadline to have all contest submissions postmarked, so get sketching! Winners of the contest will receive a special trip to Washington D.C. AND score a free screening of Furry Vengeance at their school!
