It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s John Travolta!

The latter two are both true. Last week, Hollywood veteran John Travolta flew his personal plane to Haiti, bringing with him meals, ministers and medical personnel. Now this is what we call a hands-on approach: he literally piloted the aircraft himself.

The trip was organized by the Church of Scientology, of which Travolta is a member. Travolta is no stranger to this kind of mission. After Hurricane Katrina, he and wife Kelly Preston also delivered aid—using the same plane.

The Travoltas flew back to Miami, Florida after their delivery of supplies, doctors, and volunteers. But their mission to help didn’t stop there. On their return flight, they brought with them a group of Haitian-Americans to be reunited with their families. Needless to say, the compassionate efforts of celebs to help Haitian relief efforts have really taken off!
