Jay-Z’s Cause-Crazy!

Tomorrow, Jay-Z will be rapping, not with Kanye, not with OneRepublic, but with students at the Mesa Arts Academy in Mesa, Arizona. Jay and LeBron James pledged to donate over 150 musical instruments to the school, as well as perform with the talented students. The academy is a free charter school that makes sure to include the arts in education from kindergarten to eighth grade. James and Jay-Z will also donate a signed piano to Mesa Arts Academy.
Jay-Z’s a man of many talents, a contributor to many causes. Did you know he made a movie last year to raise awareness about the lack of clean water in developing countries? Also, he donated over $2,500 of designer street clothes to the Spring Hill Campaign for Adolescent and University Student Empowerment (CAUSE). He’s hosted benefit concerts galore; his November 2006 concert in New York city raised over $250,000 for PlayPumps International. After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, the rap star donated $1 million to the American Red Cross’ relief effort.
As Jay-Z would say, the world’s got 99 problems but a lack of good people ain’t one.
