In one week, John Legend performed at the World Cup Kickoff Concert, witnessed a stadium full of vuvuzelas firsthand, and even visited a lion park. Now that the musician is back from his trip to Africa, he’s taking to his blog to say that’s not all he was up to.
Before catching his flight home, Legend made a detour to Mbola, Tanzania. There, he teamed up with Millenium Promise and the Show Me Campaign, an initiative that Legend founded to further efforts in providing access to sanitation facilities, clean water, better healthcare, increased education, and more. The Grammy-award winning artist detailed the campaign’s significant progress over the last few years on his blog, which includes the construction of more schools, donation of new computers and learning tools, and the distribution of mosquito nets.
Legend says “asante!” ("thank you") to all the people that make up the ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for the Mbola village. Despite his jetlag, he talks of being energized by the Show Me Campaign’s progress. What are you energized to do? What cause motivates you the most? We here at CGG would love for you to show us how you're taking action!
