Jonas Brothers join forces with Do Something (again!)

This Tuesday, President-elect Obama will drop the hyphenate and wife Michelle will become First Lady. But Michelle's already Doing Something to make a difference: Today's birthday girl (she was born in Chicago on Jan. 17, 1965) is asking all of America to celebrate the inauguration of our 44th President -- and Martin Luther King Jr. Day -- by joining her in a Day of Service on Monday.

No strangers to good-deed doing, Jonas Brothers are heeding Michelle's call -- and they want YOU to get involved as well. And Nick, Kevin, and Joe (in a new partnership with Do Something) are making it super easy: Simply text "Jonas" to 30644 and put in your zip to receive a volunteer opportunity in your area.

On Monday at their Youth Ball performance, the brothers are reportedly planning to ask the ENTIRE AUDIENCE at D.C.'s Verizon Center to take out their phones, right then and there, to sign up for the program. Subsequently, all participants will receive at texts from the band at least twice a month (there is no extra charge; standard text rates apply).

CGG is SO proud that the program comes to the JoBros -- and you! -- care of Do Something! We love that these guys recognize the importance of giving back -- and they've been "doing something" for years now; check out their DS PSA from back in the day above.

So no excuses: Make a difference this Monday! Nick, Joe, and Kevin (along with all of us at Do Something and CGG) say THANKS in advance.

Tell us what YOU are doing tomorrow on the Day of Service by commenting below. All of us at Do Something will be participating in a Social Action Boot Camp in D.C., giving young change makers a crash course in what it takes to start and run your own non-profit.

P.S. CGG IS REPORTING FROM D.C. FROM NOW THRU WEDNESDAY! So keep coming back for star-studded posts . . .
