With this festive holiday season right around the corner, we're apt to muse over gingerbread baking, tree shopping, and Christmas caroling. But smart driving?! Surely that's the furthest thing from our minds.
Well, the ravishing recording artist and One Tree Hill starlet Kate Voegele is calling on all of us to think twice about this unfortunate trend, with car crashes inevitably increasing during the holiday season.
Now, she's teamed up with The Allstate Foundation for their second annual "Holiday Holla" online caroling contest, which gives teens the opportunity to rewrite and perform/"holla" traditional carols with new hip lyrics about smart driving for the chance to win $10,000!
Kate will follow in the footsteps of last year's Allstate celeb--Taylor Swift--to help choose the winner from the top five best teams.
"The holidays are deadly for teen drivers, which is hard to talk about during such a happy time of the year," said Kate. "Through music, humor, and the Internet, 'Holiday Holla' gives teens the chance to take on this difficult issue in a fun way."

Smart campaign. Wish I could drive! LOL!
What an great contest! It is hard to bring up such a grim topic during the holiday season, but I'm glad someone's not afraid to do it.
