Hear ye, hear ye: Katy Perry is setting the record straight on a highly publicized story regarding her "vow of celibacy!"

Just weeks after breaking up with long-term boyfriend Travis McCoy, Katy Perry revealed to TV Guide that she had taken a vow of celibacy which even included kissing. "No kissing anyone," she said. "Just my cat, Kitty Purry."

But it looks like the media has skewed this story way out of proportion. "That was a joke!" Katy tells CGG today in a press conference. "And any fine journalist would have gotten that joke and inserted that in the context. I'm not going to be celibate; I guess I'm just going to be looking for the right one," she explains.

"But please! Celibacy for a whole year?! I'd rather die!" Katy laughs. "That's just how the media works," she continues, "I'm a continual prankster and a jokester, and people forget that you have to interpret that if I'm telling a joke."

And there you have it!!
