Looks like Kellie Pickler is making sure to skip the meat and eat all her veggies lately... thanks to the support of Carrie Underwood!
Five months ago, she used to be just your average meat-eating country girl, but now Kellie's joined long-time vegetarian Carrie in giving up the meat.
"I texted Carrie and was like, 'You're never going to believe this!'" Kellie told People. "And she was like, 'No way! I'll give you three days!'"
But Kellie said she's still staying strong in her efforts to refuse meat. "So we have this little vegetarian thing going on," Kellie said of her pact with Carrie.
Kellie said she first decided to give up meat for health reasons, but a PETA ad by Pamela Anderson increased her interest in the effort.
"One night I couldn't sleep and I was up and just Googling random stuff and I'm like, 'Hmmm, Peta.' I saw all the videos and I thought it was just horrible. It's animal cruelty. A lot of it has to do with knowing what happens to the animals and it really bothered me so I will not eat meat."

how cute is she? i'm a vegetarian too (pescatarian now actually, but i was a true veg-head for years)- people think it's really hard, but i think it's pretty easy. there are LOTS of places where you can get vegetarian options, especially nowadays. and, if you can afford it, there are places that sell organic meat where the farmers don't mistreat their animals so your money doesn't support a cruel industry.
That's great for her but I'm not sure I can or want to go veggie. I just love meat and I don't see anything wrong with that... Still, I make it a point to buy organic, free-range meat, and in an effort to help Mother Earth, I try to have one meatless day a week.
I used to be a vegetarian too for years when I was a kid... until I finally got introduced to hamburgers. But now that I've read this story, it makes me wonder what really goes into the process of providing me with those delish big macs... honestly, i dont even wanna know now that i think about. maybe i should try going back to vegetarianism again...
I'm a vegetarian.
And I'm very anti-fur.
So it's great to see that Kellie's doing whatever she can to support animal rights.
besides, meat's not great for your system -- it takes so long to digest. gross!
