Kristen Stewart is busy promoting the newest Twilight flick New Moon, but she still found the time to do some good. The actress made a surprise appearance at Dodgers Stadium in LA yesterday to jump start the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes. Joined by boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, Kristen cut the ribbon to kick off the initiative, which aims to raise $2 million for juvenile diabetes research. “It’s amazing to be around such inspiring people” said Kristen. Check out more of her appearance in the video below.

I love that she is doing this!
I also didn't know that two million adolescents (or a sixth of overweight adolescents) aged 12-19 have pre-diabetes....
hmm I wonder what her connection is to diabetes? Whatever, really nice when these stars actually are doing good. good for her. hope they get to the 2 million bucks!
Good for her! Think this means she's secretly dating Nick Jonas? ;) Whatever her motivation, It's awesome to see such a buzz-worthy star spending her time for good.
it's great that she's speaking out on a cause she cares about... although kristen stewart + sugar ray leonard is a weird combination
Sweet! She's so awesome for doing this!
that is great news. my friend's sister has juvenile diabetes and it's good to see celebrities like kristen working to help find a cure.
agreed that I hope they reach 2 million!
Glad to see such a positive response to Kristen's work! I think that surprise appearances at events show the celeb is doing it for more than the PR.
jdrf is one of my favorite charities. my brother got diabetes 9 years ago from a virus, believe it or not. it just shut down his pancreas and he's had to give himself insulin shots ever since. he and my dad do bike rides for jdrf yearly :)
always appreciate awareness around this cause!
