Larry King Live: Gulf Coast Edition

On Monday night, CNN veteran Larry King brought together stars across the Hollywood galaxy for $1.8 million of celeb-gone-goodness. In a live telethon for Gulf Coast relief, Justin Bieber, Ryan Seacrest, Sting, Kathy Griffin, Alyssa Milano, Pete Wentz, Ne-Yo, Nicole Richie, and more got together to support relief and restoration initiatives in the region devastated by the oil spill.

During his performance, Sting spoke to the audience with a raw message, that “without an ecosystem, there are no economics... there’s nothing left.” The $1.8 million funding raised from the live broadcast will go towards The Nature Conservancy’s Fund for Gulf Coast Restoration in its long-term plan to recover important ecosystems that have been damaged.

King said that the telethon came out of his inspiration from George Clooney’s do-gooding success with the "Hope for Haiti" telethon earlier this year. One celeb inspired by another- CGG is all for it! Stay informed about what’s going on in the Gulf and share your thoughts on the situation online.
