Lebron and Russell say vote early!
via celevelandsports.wordpress.com
NBA All-Star LeBron James and Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons led a rally today for Presidential hopeful Barack Obama in Cleveland, Ohio to encourage people to register to vote.
The “Cleveland Register for Change Rally” saw the celeb pair urging Ohioans to register before Monday’s deadline, and to cast their ballots during the early voting period before Election Day.
While out with the crowds, Russell told the AP it was Obama’s stance on the war that initially got his support. “I believe this is like a spiritual statement because we operate out of so much fear and anger, and we’ve been misguided by that fear,” Russell said.
LeBron continued, “This is a time that could be life changing for a lot of people. If you want change, you have to be heard.”
