When disaster struck in New Orleans, Brad Pitt was ready to rebuild with energy efficient homes. Perhaps Brad’s green heroism inspired Leonardo DiCaprio to help the people of Greensburg, Kansas recover after a tornado hit in 2007. And he made sure the rebuilding is up to his very high eco-standards.

The city of Greensburg got an incredible makeover by Leo who used the latest sustainable designs and green technology. He documented the entire process for a show called “Greensburg” now playing on Discovery Channel’s “Planet Green.” Today, the town is even giving eco-tours to show tourists how to build sustainable, green environments—and they have already had visitors from outside the country come to check it out.

And they have a lot to show off. From energy-efficient heating and air conditioning to water-efficient toilets, this town isn’t messing around. They even have gardens on the roofs. How cool?
