Lucy Liu is helping UNICEF light up New York. Yesterday, the action-star actress light the iconic Fifth Avenue Snowflake, which hangs high above the famed shopping destination. The Snowflake has been there for 25 holiday seasons, bringing awareness to UNICEF’s mission to help children around the world gain access to health care, education, and basic necessities. Lucy, who’s also a UNICEF Ambassador, said the Snowflake “reminds me that every day, there are 24,000 children worldwide dying from preventable causes.”
The holiday season is the perfect time to kick your do-gooding in to high gear.
