Meghan McCain: Kiss my fat a**!

A new celeb feud! Battle of the blondes! However you want to spin this one—it is a perfect discussion topic for National Women’s History Month.

The conservative radio host Laura Ingraham is calling the daughter of John McCain, 24-year-old Meghan McCain a “useful idiot” and a “flavor of the month.” But Meghan says she crossed the line when Laura called Meghan a “plus-sized model.” What does weight have to do with her political beliefs?

"The significant majority of my readers are young women," said Meghan, a blogger for the Daily Beast said on The View Monday. "What do young women think when I speak my mind about politics and I want to have a political discussion about the ideological future of the Republican Party and the answer is, 'She's fat, she shouldn't have an opinion.' "

The politician's daughter is trying to establish herself as a leading voice for the next generation of Republicans, a task that has proven difficult to do in such a cutthroat environment: battling conservative pundits Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter.

But Meghan took the opportunity to speak out about women’s issues instead of simply trying to salvage her own reputation. She has appeared on daytime TV shows and she has written about the issue on her own blog: McCainBlogette.com.

"I couldn't possibly understand how any woman could criticize another woman's weight. I'm a pop-culture junkie and when Tyra Banks went on her show in her bathing suit and said, 'Kiss my fat ass,' that's what I feel like right now. I'm like Kiss my fat ass!"
