Preggers Bristol gets a little love

You may or may not have scanned the mags recently to catch a glimpse of Washington’s newest blonde —Sen. John McCain’s daughter.

Meghan McCain is making headlines for defending preggers Bristol Palin—daughter of McCain’s V.P. candidate.

Even though Bristol may be pregnant at only 17-years-old, Meghan insists on her blog that, “it’s a rough go being the son or daughter of a politician.”

Meghan continues that since she’s been “on political stages and in campaigns since before I could walk or talk, it is difficult to establish your identity and independence as the son or daughter of a politician.”

“You can’t fully understand it unless you have lived it,” she says. “So I just want to let it be known that I support Bristol and the entire Palin family.”

A political maneuver? Maybe, maybe not. Michelle Obama recently came out saying that Palin private matters should be kept private. She says on an upcoming episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show "one of the reasons why I'm proud of my husband" is his refusal to weigh in about Palin's family issues.

Another 17-year-old who knows a thing or two about being a young mother, Jamie Lynn Spears denied Internet rumors that she had sent Bristol a baby present. But she did say through her reps that she does empathize with Sarah's situation.

What do you think? Should Bristol be left alone? OR is the White House no place for Baby Mama Drama?

I just think it's hypocritical that Sarah is so religious and yet her daughter had a baby out of wedlock.

It's like Obama said, no matter what your stance is on pro choice pro life we need to educate our nation more about unwanted pregnancies. This is an important issue especially among teenagers!!!

While Bristol's personal life shouldn't be the focus of the political campaign, it also is important to note that as the daughter/family of the Republican Party's VP candidate... the party that claims to value such important family values, etc... this is very contradictory and that definately needs to be recognized!

I think Michelle Obama has it right, their personal family issues should be kept out of the politics, and its incredibly respectable of Obama to not go after this, especially while the Republican Convention was full of dirty speeches.

I think its also sad, that because she is a politician's daughter she obviously has no choice in the matter, and that is truly unfortunate.
