Michael J. Fox's sunny disposition
via TV Guide
…and his sunny disposition must have been the result of raising over $900,000, according to Forbes! Michael J. Fox started off his holiday weekend in Beverly Hills in true celeb-gone-good fashion, by hosting a benefit called “A Sunny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s.” Joining him were guests including veteran supermodel Heidi Klum, Seinfeld producer Larry David, rock legend Joan Jett, House’s Lisa Edelstein, and more.
The celebs got together for a night of comedy and music in an effort to raise funds for Parkinson’s disease research. Since first being diagnosed with the disease, Fox has dedicated himself to being a vocal advocate in the fight to find a cure. Not only has the Michael J. Fox Foundation made significant strides in garnering funds to make better treatment possible, but it has also helped Fox to raise awareness about his own perseverance despite having Parkinson’s— encouraging others suffering from the condition to persevere and continue to follow their dreams too.
There are many ways you can play a role in advancing the fight against Parkinson’s and other medical conditions. Not sure how? Not to worry! Check out our action guide on how to start an awareness campaign.
