Michael Jordan makes wishes come true

The NBA star, who was named Chief Wish Ambassador of the Make-A-Wish Foundation last year, recently made a $140,000 contribution to the charity. His ninth-annual charity golf event, the "Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational," took place from January 20-24 2010 at the Ocean Club Golf Course in the Bahamas.

Among celebs in attendance were Derek Jeter, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Tucker, Jennifer Hudson, and Alex Rodriguez. Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. 18-year-old Travis Meserve tossed out the ceremonial pitch for the Invitational’s Softball Challenge. Travis is one of Make-A-Wish Foundation’s “wish kids” who is being treated for a rare lung condition.

Last year alone, 13,465 wishes were granted by the foundation! To find out what you can do to help make wishes come true, click here.
