Dustin Lance Black is in the spotlight again! For LGBTQ pride month, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter is being honored by one of his favorite charities “LifeWorks” in Hollywood this Saturday.

“LifeWorks” is an organization that offers mentoring opportunities to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth ages 14-24. Dustin’s friend and Grey’s Anatomy star TR Knight will be in attendance among other celebs.

In an interview earlier this year about Milk and his charity work, Dustin said that he’s not just about fighting for LGBTQ rights but fighting for human rights. “…we can come together and when we can work together accepting each others differences, and if we fight for each others civil rights we can win all of our civil rights.”

You can participate in LGBTQ month and support leaders in the gay community like Dustin by joining an LGBTQ alliance at your school! Don’t have one yet? Start your own! Remember, you don’t have to be gay to participate-in fact most schools have a mix of sexual orientation represented in their alliance.

What do you think about Dustin’s work? How can he and other famous LGBTQ celebs do something important for this month? Tell us what you think—comment below!
