Selena Gomez has joined Demi in the ranks of do-gooder Disney stars since she became the spokesperson for UNICEF’s Trick-or-Treat campaign last October. And she's moving up quickly because she has just been appointed the youngest Ambassador for UNICEF.

The Wizards of Waverly Place star will be taking off for Ghana this week on her first official field-mission in her new role, which she seems to be taking very seriously: “Every day 25,000 children die from preventable causes,” she said, “I stand with UNICEF in the belief that we can change that number from 25,000 to zero…UNICEF is on the ground providing children with the lifesaving assistance needed to ensure zero becomes a reality.”
