Teen heartthrob Nick Jonas and 150 of his diabetic buddies came to congress this morning to testify before a Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee hearing.

Nick and the kids appeared on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to advocate for more federal funding for diabetes research. Nick shared his own experience with the disease and urged the committee to continue funding diabetes research in hopes of finding a cure. "My life depends on it. All our lives depend on it," he said.

Nick stayed true to his rock star self and read some lyrics of the song, "A Little Bit Longer," that he wrote about dealing with the disease. "With the help of Congress, I'll only have to wait a little bit longer for a cure." He also brought up his “simple wins” philosophy and emphasized that he wants to continue to be a positive role model for kids with diabetes.

After the hearing he caught up with reporters and told People about his experience: "It was great. It was really cool. The whole thing was a pleasure to be a part of and a great thing for me to share my story and hopefully have some influence on some very influential people."
