Do Something Ambassador Nicole Lapin, the CNN Anchor and host of Young People who Rock (which showcases people under 30 who are doing amazing things), stopped by our offices last Thursday to catch up on the latest happenings at DS. (Special hint: check back next week for some exciting news!) After dishing with the 13-year (!?!) vegan about the best place in the city for an animal-free dinner in the city (Gobo) and revealing our special spot for cruelty-free cupcakes (Babycakes) we were even more thrilled to run in to her on the pink carpet at the Ultimate Prom on Friday night.

We asked Nicole what was her biggest issue when she was graduating high school. “It was a weird time,” she told us. “I mean I had to be older and wear makeup, but I was a big nerd.” Don’t worry, Nicole, we’re still a big nerd. And her cause at the time, “being smart is cool.” A most worthy cause for anyone, at any point in life.
