One concert, jam packed with the best of the music world—set the scene for a great time while celebrating a great country. Jay-Z, Mary J.Blige, Usher, Rihanna, and Chris Brown rocked the 3rd Annual THISDAY Fashion and Musical Festival, which took place in Abuja, Nigeria on Friday.

This year’s festival, which is tagged “Africa Rising: To Celebrate the Best and Brightest of Emerging New Africa,” focused on raising awareness and finding "sustainable solutions" rather than simply identifying the "problems" facing Africa.

The organizers of THISDAY are intent on Africa receiving investment, not aid, and a new mindset can only be achieved through a celebration of the continent’s potentials.
