Nominee Profile: Hugh Jackman

This fierce wolverine-or Australian actor and producer Hugh Jackman- has been nominated for the Do Something Twitter Award. Dividing his time between his native Sydney and New York City, Hugh is constantly on the move. His days are filled with filming movies, performing on stage, supporting his favorite Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, taking care of his children, and even taking action for causes he is passionate about.

On April 14, 2009, Hugh posted on his twitter page that he would “donate 100K to one individual's favorite nonprofit organization. Of course, you must convince me why by using 140 characters or less."

A few days later, he revealed his decision to donate $50,000 to Charity:Water and $50,000 to Operation of Hope. Charity:Water is a nonprofit organization that brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations and Operation of Hope is a volunteer surgical team that performs facial reconstructive surgery for people in need. Hugh has significantly impacted many lives and is a role model and hero for thousands around the globe.
