Padma Lakshmi's blossoming charity initiative

Last week, CGG caught up with Top Chef-host and new mother, Padma Lakshmi at the 2nd Annual Blossom Ball in New York. The event is designed to raise both awareness and funds for the Endometriosis Foundation of America (EFA). Co-founded by Padma Lakshmi and Dr. Tamer Seckin, the EFA’s honorary committee includes a team of celebs dedicated to helping women that includes Helena Christensen, Chelsea Handler, Amy Poehler, Kerry Washington, and more.

Endometriosis is a reproductive disorder that affects women, often times who are either under-diagnosed, inadequately treated, or unaware of the condition. Over 170 million women worldwide are affected by endometriosis… that’s a statistic even higher than that of breast cancer.

Check out what EFA’s co-founders had to say when we spoke with them on the red carpet about the obstacles in raising awareness about a delicate and often misunderstood subject. Plus, catch Padma serving us the blunt truth at the end—her opinion on food education in schools! Craving to do something? Take a stand for an overlooked disease that affects millions of women, and help raise awareness about endometriosis today.
