People Magazine released today their special 100 most beautiful people issue. We, of course, were drawn to the “More than Skin Deep” article, which looked at stars who are shining from the inside.
Their list as follows:
David Beckham, for serving as Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund. The heart-of-gold footballer says of being asked by Kofi Annan to campaign for kids’ rights around the world: “It was one of the proudest moments of my life, and remains so.”
Also working with UNICEF, the gorgeous Salma Hayek has partnered with Pampers to provide a tetanus shot to babies in developing countries for every pack of diapers sold with a UNICEF logo. For the new mom, nothing could be simpler: “You give them a vaccine, they don’t die.”
Meanwhile, some of our top female stars are supporting education here in the U.S. The “I Have a Dream” Foundation, which supports an entire first grade class at a low-performing school is Jennifer Garner’s charity of choice. While Queen Latifah runs the Lancelot H. Owens Foundation, a college scholarship program created in honor of her brother, a police office who was killed in a motorcycle accident.
People also pays tribute to the lovely Miss Rihanna and her BELIEVE Foundation, which provides needy kids with clothing, food, and medical expenses.
And finally for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing, yep, congrats to the very handsome Patrick Dempsey, star of the new film Made of Honor. The Dempsey Center aims to give cancer patients information to navigate treatment, all in one place.
Here’s to our CGG’s, beautiful on the inside and out!
