Super brave super model, Petra Nemcova, who survived 2004’s Indian Ocean Tsunami, is opening her heart to support a cause, her own cause!

The Czech-born cutie celebrated her 29th birthday at Santo’s Party House in downtown NYC. Celebrity-attendees included Mary-Kate Olsen, Gossip Girl’s devilish Ed Westwick, Zoe Kravitz, Erika Christensen and Danny Masterson. What was the plus side of the party? In addition to The Filthy Youth’s performance, with Westwick as front man, the party supported the Happy Hearts Fund, Petra’s own charity.

Petra founded the Happy Hearts Fund in 2006, which aids children who have suffered loss or hardship as a result of natural, economic, or health-related disasters.

“Even before the tsunami, my goal in life always has been to help people,” said Petra. “Especially children — and just the tsunami gave me more opportunities to help.”
