Rihanna is hot for UNICEF's tattoo hearts
It's finally here! After much anticipation, Rihanna's ad for Gucci's new "Tattoo Heart" for UNICEF campaign has finally arrived!
Last night, celebs attended a posh dinner at New York's Plaza to celebrate the launch of the new handbag and shoe collection, which donates 25 percent of sales to UNICEF. The new items feature a "Love Gucci" tattooed heart image. And if we know anything about Rihanna, we know she loves meaningful tattoos on her body, so it's very fitting that she adds them to her accessories.
The swanky stars who filled the plaza included Madonna, Adrien Grenier, Blake Lively, Pen Badgley, Mary J. Blige, Erin Wasson, Timbaland, Natasha Poly, and Patricia Fields.
Learn more about this cause and also check out other stars who have come out to show their support for UNICEF!

The gorgeous Rihanna hosted the third annual “Cartier Love Day” Lighting Ceremony at NYC’s Empire State Building by lighting the famous skyline a festive Cartier red. Rihanna was on hand to launch the new LOVECHARITY bracelet to commemorate the arts. Sales of the Love Charity bracelet have generated 2.24 million dollars for sixteen global charities over the last 2 years.
The new LOVECHARITY bracelet features interlocking miniature LOVE bracelets set into a knotted silk cord available in various colors, with each cord designating support of a unique cause. Cartier will donate proceeds from each bracelet sold to the celebrity ambassador’s charity. Some of the charities include Ashanti for the Boys & Girls Club of America, Hilary Duff for Blessings in a Backpack, and Eve for Women in Transition.

Not only has Rihanna's flawless face graced ads such as Covergirl and H&M for "Fashion Against AIDS, but it has been announced that the Barbadan beauty will be the new face of the 2008 Gucci UNICEF Campaign. The "Tattoo Heart" campaign, (as it has been named), will be releasing special-edition Gucci items with a heart-shaped motif to distinguish that they are for the UNICEF organization. Twenty-five percent of the sales for the "Tattoo Heart" items will be donated to UNICEF.
Be sure to keep an eye out this November and December 2008 when the new products for the line will be out. Hmm, early holiday shopping anyone?

This year’s festival, which is tagged “Africa Rising: To Celebrate the Best and Brightest of Emerging New Africa,” focused on raising awareness and finding "sustainable solutions" rather than simply identifying the "problems" facing Africa. The organizers of THISDAY are intent on Africa receiving investment, not aid, and a new mindset can only be achieved through a celebration of the continent’s potentials.
Rocking out while raising awareness, all in a day's work for these stars.
