Last week, Rihanna hit NYC in yet another show-stopping ensemble to attend the annual DKMS gala.
DKMS is an organization that connects bone marrow and stem cell donors with patients in need.
Kylie Minogue, and designers Betsy Johnson and Vera Wang were also on hand for the event, and Rihanna had a particular patient in mind when she showed up to work the red carpet and speak about the struggles of leukemia patients in need of bone marrow transplants.
The hip hop princess has been helping 6-year-old leukemia patient Jasmina Anema find a bone marrow match for a transplant. At the gala, Rihanna presented the 'Links of Love' award to Jasmina’s best friend, Isabelle Huurman.
She told the crowd, “Thank you Isabelle. Isabelle has spent time with Jasmina…she is lucky to have you. You’re an incredible best friend…You rock Isabelle!”
And Kylie didn’t just spend her time before the gala primping like most reigning queens of pop would. She turned up at NYC’s Empire State Building to flick the switch to change the lights to red and white, DKMS’ official colors.
See what you can do to help leukemia and cancer patients.
