When you think Hamptons, you probably think about fancy houses, expensive cars and the biggest parties of the season. You probably don’t think about charity…unless you’re Russell Simmons of course. The hip-hop mogul is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Hamptons Magazine, which hit stands on Friday.

Mr. Simmons tells the magazine all about how he became the king of another industry besides than hip-hop: the charity business. He uses the arts to benefit the community and his annual Hamptons bash called “Art For Life Garden Party” will benefit his foundation: The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation

Russell’s organization (which turns 10 years old this year) helps benefit disadvantaged youth by hooking them up with non-profit art programs in New York City. The “Art For Life” bash on July 18th will celebrate the kids who have already benefited from the programs and also honor exemplary individuals who have helped their mission including Vanessa Williams.

Ready to party like a rock star? Do like Russell and make sure your benefiting a good cause! Want to rock it out for arts?
