Sandra Bullock's Adopted High School Achieves 100 Percent Grad Rate

Last year we highlighted Sandra Bullock for her funding of the Warren Easton Charter School in New Orleans, which earned her the #16 spot in our Top 20 Celebs Gone Good of 2010. Thanks to the actress, the school offers scholarships and an on-campus health clinic. This month, Warren Easton reached a new milestone: All 220 seniors received their diplomas! Even more impressive is that the class collectively earned over $4.6 million in scholarship money from 15 different colleges and universities.
"I cannot express how proud I am of the 2011 graduating class at Warren Easton," Bullock said, according to CNN. "To achieve a 100 percent graduation rate goes to show that the recipe for success lies under that roof. People who believe, people who love and support, and poeple who don't take no for an answer."
Sandy's right: Sadly, a 100% graduation rate is rare. In America's 50 largest cities, only 58% of students graduate. Every year, 1.2 million students drop out; that's one student every 26 seconds. Help combat this problem and host a dropout prevention summit or a Don't Be A Statistic Day.
