Sarah Silverman: the great schlep

via mtv.com

“If you knew that visiting your grandparents could change the world, would you do it??”

Funnylady Sarah Silverman wants you to get the word out about Obama-- the word out to your Nana that is. She teamed up with thegreatschlep.com and JewsVote.org to urge people to convince their grandparents to vote for the Democratic nominee for president.

And because of all those old people soaking up the sun in Florida-- one of the most important swing states in the presidential election-- she wants you to “schlep” down to the Sunshine state and convince them to go for Obama because let’s face it, there’s nobody more influential to your grandparents than you.

Silverman jokes about all the Jewish grandparents living down south in Florida and tells us grandkids to get in gear and bribe our grandparents with extra visits in order to get them to the polls and vote for Obama. According to JewsVote.org, up to 80% of Jews are registered to vote so it’s obviously an important group of voters to mobilize behind a candidate and the elderly vote is a big one too.

Silverman wants you to know that the combination can help get her candidate of choice elected!
