First a celebrity, then a designer, now a role model!
Selena Gomez has now officially been named the spokesperson for UNICEF's 2008 Trick-or-Treat campaign, which aims to encourage children to make a difference on Halloween by helping other children around the globe.
For the past 58 years, UNICEF has provided children with an orange box that allows them to collect money for those less fortunate while they're out on their trick-or-treating extravaganzas. Since then, UNICEF has collected $140 million dollars!
"I am extremely excited to be this year's Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson," Selena said. "I want to help encourage other kids to make a difference in the world and show them that Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is such a great, fun way to get involved."
Caryl Stern, President and CEO of the US Fund for UNICEF said, "We are thrilled to have Selena be a part of the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program this year. Young people can relate to Selena, and she is a great role model who we believe will greatly enhance the visibility of the program."

Good to see Selena's already getting involved with a cause. But I know my mom wouldn't be happy if I wore that much makeup and such a low-cut shirt!
