Simon Cowell to produce a hit for Haiti

Straight off the success of the “Hope for Haiti Now” album (currently the #1 selling album on iTunes!), UK Prime Minister has personally asked "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell to produce a charity single for Haiti.
Stars lining up to perform the cover of R.E.M’s “Everybody Hurts” include Leona Lewis, Michael Buble, Susan Boyle, Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi, James Blunt, Mika, and Miley Cyrus. All proceeds from the project will go towards supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee and Helping Haiti/Doctors Without Borders.
In other music news, Lionel Richie is planning a 25th anniversary re-recording of “We are the World” with Usher, Natalie Cole, John Legend, and more.
According to BBC News, the estimated release date for Cowell’s single is February 7, 2010. Stay tuned!
