CGG was out in full force at the Songwriter's Hall of Fame induction ceremony last night. Performer John Legend told us about his efforts to combat Global Extreme Poverty through his Show Me Campagin. "We focus on ending extreme poverty around the world. We’re focused in Africa right now but we also do outreach efforts throughout the United States to educate young people particularly about the issue of extreme poverty and sustainable development, and we’re trying to make change happen."

John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, who won the Hal David Starlight Award, took the time to tell us about his passion for getting music back in schools. He said, "I’m working with VH1 Save the Music, because I didn’t get a real music education... I wish I would have had a little more training, a little more exposure, a bigger group of people, to find myself. Because I wasn’t an athlete, I wasn’t a scholar, so music was the only way that I ever had a chance to shine, and to me, that’s really important to bring that back."
