Her character, Brooke Davis, from One Tree Hill said in the first episode of season five, "Anorexia is a disease. It is not a fashion statement." Sophia Bush's passion for body image issues is not only onscreen. The actress has recently lashed out at Urban Outfitters for selling pro-anorexia shirts with the words "Eat Less" across the chest.
In her blog, Sophia spoke out to her fans against Urban Outfitters. She said, "Ladies! This is OUTRAGEOUS. I hope none of you will stand for being told such a thing, in such a way. Being healthy, eating right, and staying active is one thing. Being told to starve yourselves by a fashion company? Not cool."
The actress did not stop there. She then wrote a letter to the store and told the company exactly how she felt, "To promote starvation? To promote anorexia, which leads to heart disease, bone density loss, and a slew of other health problems, not least of all psychological issues that NEVER go away? Shame on you. I will no longer be shopping at your store..."
What do you think about Urban Outfitter's pro-anorexia shirts? Do you agree with Sophia? Be an activist and rally for what you believe in.
