The government may have banned foreign journalists, but that hasn’t stopped thousands of young Iranians from tweeting the news from the front lines of the protests. And Ashton Kutcher—the Twitter king himself—has even joined in with other stars to comment on the controversial election. Here’s what they have been tweeting:

Ashton Kutcher says “Considering how well fighting 4 freedom in Iraq went, I don’t know that we should B jumping in2 this Iran deal. I think that truly the only people that can change things in Iran are the Iranians themselves and they seem to be speaking their minds now.”

Ashton’s lady love, Demi Moore, had this to say: “My heart aches but I am inspired by the courage and strength of the Iranian people in the face of such opposition and adversity! I have no judgment on who voted for who I am just pained that they are dealing with such civil unrest that is leading to violence.”

British comedian and writer Stephen Fry joined in the conversation as well, adding his thoughts and concerns: “Iranian govt should at least know we’re watching & we care. We’re not imperialists, we just care.” He went on to list ways in which Iranian Twitter users can “avoid govt filters” and access the site.

What do you think about these three celeb tweets? Do you agree with Ashton, that the US should continue to stay out of the controversy? Or are you on the other side and think that the US should be responding as passionately as other countries have done? Tell us what you think—comment below!
