Stephen Colbert understands the true meaning of the holidays
Stephen Colbert recently aired an episode solely dedicated to the holidays, which featured this super fun clip above complete with a singing bear Elvis Costello, redneck Toby Keith, wiseman Willie Nelson, angel Feist, and sheriff John Legend.
But beyond the hilarity of seeing some of your favorite singers dressed up in seasonal garb, this clip also packs one powerful message.
"What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?" it asks. Quite an appropriate rhetorical question, we'd say, in the midst of our world's current economical state and a massive shift in American politics.
It sure is refreshing to see that even someone as sarcastic and entertainingly crass as Stephen Colbert still gets it when it comes to the true meaning of the holidays....
