As you have probably noticed, Jessica Simpson is on the cover of every magazine, and its not because of her new country album. It is her so-called “curvy” figure that has the media’s attention. People are wondering if all the scrutiny is getting to her after her performance last Thursday when opening for a Rascal Flatts concert in Michigan.
While she may have flubbed some words at the show, CGG thinks it was pretty brave of our blonde bombshell to stick it out. She was clearly nervous—forgetting words, apologizing to the crowd, and shedding a few tears throughout the performance. She admitted to the crowd that it had been “a rough week.” We'll say! But she didn't give up, she finished her show and rocked a tiny pair of daisy dukes!
Luckily, Jessica has a huge amount of support from the people who matter the most; her friends and family. Though both her sister Ashlee and her ex Nick Lachey seem to have her back, Jessica is still feeling the heat. With the whole world talking about “Jessica Simpson Weight Debate” it is hard not to.
Jess' fans are sticking by her too. One fan, Ellen Simons, 16, of Grand Rapids, told People that, "She looked very healthy. I think she is more of a healthy skinny now, rather than skinny-skinny. Celebrities, if they gain five pounds, they are under the worst pressure. It's just not fair to them." Thank goodness her young fans have a good head on their shoulders!
With so many teensy-tiny stars out there, Jessica should be applauded, not condemned for looking great at a more normal size. The average American woman is 5’4 inches and weighs 152 pounds, yet the average American starlet is around 5’9 and under 120 pounds!
All this negative attention got you riled up? You can rant and rave about this all you want on our site. CGG hates that the media is stressing the wrong things when it comes to our bods - how skinny you are is not what’s important—Exercise, good sleep, and healthy eating are what keep us in good shape after all!
What do you think about this media bullying? Do you think she looks healthy, skinny, overweight? Comment below!
