Susan Sarandon isn't backing down

Longtime Do Something friend activist Susan Sarandon is standing up for what she believes is right with her partner Tim Robbins right behind her. They're campaigning against a proposal to expand St. Vincent’s Hospital in Greenwich Village.

Neighbors in the area, Susan and Tim understand the need that changes need to be made at the hospital, but are angered that plans are underway for a new hospital to be built just three streets away from their home.

The pair recently attended a Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing to oppose the expansion plans for St Vincent's hospital and have vowed to fight on against the building work.

"Improving the hospital is a great idea. However, this can be accomplished without compromising the neighborhood. St. Vincent's should consider the proposed alternative solutions."
