You may not be a teen idol, but you and Taylor Swift have something in common—clothes you probably don’t need hanging around your closet. But Taylor is giving hers away!

The 19 year old country singer donated her long cream and gold Jessica McClintock gown to DonateMyDress.org. DonateMyDress organizes donation drives across the country to collect dresses for girls who can’t afford to buy something for their high school proms.

"I chose to give away this prom dress because I wore it once and loved it! To keep it around, hanging there all by itself and lonely in the closet, never to be worn again seemed a little pointless. I want another girl somewhere to feel good in it and have a great prom night because of this dress," Taylor told People.

You can help out by locating the nearest donation drive in your area. It doesn’t have to be a prom dress per-say—bridesmaids dresses, graduation dresses, dresses from birthdays or bat mitzvahs are welcome too!
