Live from New York, it's Sarah Palin, on Saturday Night Live!

After weeks of being parodied by Tina Fey, Governor Sarah Palin appeared on Saturday Night Live this weekend to show her own sense of humor. Or to try and get the GOP ticket closer to the Dems in the polls. Or both.

After "mistaking" Sarah P. for his 30-Rock co-star, Alec Baldwin, he tries to recover by telling Alaska's gov: "You're way hotter in person." She responds by telling one of Hollywood's most vocal Democrats that her favorite Baldwin is Alec's younger, Republican brother Stephen.

So what do YOU think? Will her SNL performance have any effect on the polls? Did SLP's (that's Sarah Louise Palin, folks) appearance make you more likely to vote for her and fellow maverick McCain? Tell CGG: Comment below!

Alec Baldwin, who called Sarah "a good sport," and "polite, gracious," on his Huffington Post blog, doesn't think the Republicans will gain too much ground. He wrote: "If you think an appearance on Saturday Night Live would sway voters and actually effect the outcome of the election, you may have more contempt for the electorate of this country than the Republican National Committee does. And that's a lot of contempt."

As for SLP's "performance," CGG gives her high marks for good sportsmanship too, but overall, she didn't say or do much. And so our award for Best Performance by a Palin in a Supporting SNL Role goes to her hubby, Todd, who wore a "Team Arctic" snowsuit while dancing behind Amy Poehler and a dude in a moose suit (before the latter was "shot") during the pregnant SNL regular's rap. Yo, check it:

Wasn't that fun? Now allow us to get serious for minute: To hear more from the real candidates, and where they stand on the real issues, be sure to check here.

I have to agree with Alec. I don't think this would help her much in the polls much. I would however vote for Todd, the first dude!

Nice try, Palin...nice try.

we already knew palin had a sense of humor, but i definitely don't think this is one of the key qualities i look for in a vp candidate. wouldn't it be awkward between her and tina fey since fey just said she would leave the country if palin was elected? hm....

anyway- i am excited to vote! this is my first election and i should be getting my absentee ballot in soon :)

This wasn't funny at all, but Tina Fey did a great impression.
Tina for Vice President!!! You go girl! :)
