But the cast of the Do Something Awards TV Show nominee The Buried Life made quite the statement on the blue carpet of our awards last week. As they were holding a sign that said, "The oil's capped but the swimming still sucks," we asked them what they thought about our Weekend Without Oil.

DoSomething.org partnered up with SmartPower's "My Gulf Action" and many others for the Weekend Without Oil. The initiative encourages participants to spend the weekend of August 21-22 abstaining from certain petroleum-based products. This boycott will be a step in lowering the demand for oil. People will walk or ride a bike instead of using a car and use reusable bags instead of disposable plastic bags. Not so hard, right?
