Hip-hop hero Snoop Dogg and NFL legend Willie McGinest are teaming up to improve their hometown of Long Beach, California. Together, they are raising money for a state of the art youth center.
The youth center is called “The Kroc Center” and will serve as a Salvation Army facility and provide recreation and cultural programs to the Long Beach community. Snoop will contribute by recording a charity song and donating all of the track’s profits to the center. Willie will contribute a generous personal donation to the center.
The boys better be ready to make some serious cash—the center is estimated to cost around $140 million! But it will have some sweet features like a decked out gymnasium fully equipped with fitness centers, swimming pools, and sporting arenas. All this will go towards helping the young people residing in one of Long Beach’s poorest communities.
Are you ready to “drop it like it’s hot” for charity this summer? Join in Snoop’s cause—helping underprivileged youth! Did you know that 1 out of every 3 homeless people are under the age of 18? Let’s stand up for young people this summer! You can volunteer at a local homeless shelter or soup kitchen and don’t forget to participate in Do Something 101!
