Why Ed Westwick looks so good in a kilt

We all saw it coming: the lumberjack plaid look took us by storm this fall and winter. We just didn’t see it going this far—Ed Westwick, Sir Sean Connery, and Mike Myers have now taken the plaid look to a whole new level: KILTS!
But it’s for a good cause, so we’ll let this fashion crime slide. Celebs strode down the runway in traditional Scottish garb for the 2009 “Dressed to Kilt” fashion show Monday night at the M2 Lounge in New York. This year’s theme was “Colors of Scotland”—an appropriate name for the festive garb and the wild celebs sporting it.
The annual event benefits the Friends of Scotland charity: a non-profit corporation dedicated to advancing contemporary Scottish interests in the United States. The event brought a taste of culture to the good ol’ US of A as part of their "Homecoming Scotland 2009"—an events program celebrating Scotland’s great contributions to the world. You know like golf, whisky, and of course, men in skirts.
And these guys took it very seriously…well, sort of. Gossip Girl’s signature badass--Ed Westwick—donned a sassy kilt and rocked it down the runway with attitude. Staying true to character, Mike Myers took a different route—opting instead to skip down the catwalk in his usual funny-man style.
Aside from the display of plaid pride, the Friends of Scotland will give this year’s proceeds from the event to the Wounded Warriors program and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. The money will fund scholarships in the medical field to help returning veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq that have medical training but want to take it to the next level to try and help others.
You can give back to our troops too, and you don't have to wear a kilts to do it. Check out the video below to see some clips from the event and tell us what you think. Who looks better in a kilt, Ed or Mike? Comment below!
