Why we love Betty White (even if she's old)

It’s one of those times on CGG when we can’t help but talk about an old person. Fresh off of a frenzied Facebook campaign (that was powered strongly by the youth community) and SNL hosting success, Betty White is making headlines again. And this time, it’s not for being “America’s grandmother”--- but for being a true celeb-gone-good!

Together, White and the Morris Animal Foundation are working with wildlife scientists to prepare for wildlife health research that is necessary as a result of the oil spill crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. Back in March, the Morris Animal Foundation established the Betty White Wildlife Rapid Response Fund to grant wildlife researchers funds needed in times of unexpected natural disasters and diseases. The Golden Girl has pledged to match $25,000 of all donations made to the fund, and has been a supporter of the foundation for over 40 years.

If you caught the epic episode of SNL this past weekend, you got to see White working her youthful spunk on live TV. The actress takes the same pride in her charity initiatives—she’s been a supporter of the foundation for over 40 years! To donate to the effort in protecting our wildlife, click here. And remember, helping to save endangered species and promoting animal advocacy regulations are causes you can get involved with year round. If Betty White can rock a cause she cares about, so can you!
